Dedication & unveiling of Jim Wood Park at Rancho del Oro

September 25, 2022

Oceanside Sea Lions President Pam Pahnke and 2nd Vice President Zucette Lumabas were glad to be a part of this monumental event: the unveiling and dedication of Jim Wood Park at Rancho del Oro, Oceanside held on September 25, 2022. A well deserved tribute to our outstanding Fmr Mayor Jim Wood who had 31 years Police Service and 13 years as a Mayor of Oceanside, and 2 years council member. Thank you for your superb service! Our awesome Mayor Esther Sanchez spoke highly of Jim with anecdotes, funny, memorable, interesting. Fmr Mayor/Council Member amazing Peter Weiss had a speech about how great Jim is with memorable moments. Fmr Mayor Jim was a people person. He went around greeting people during events. He knew people wanted pictures with him. He listened to their concerns and praises. He was present at Oceanside Sea Lions pageant greeting winners. He was always welcoming when we visit him in his office. Those are only a few which endeared him to the community. It was wonderful to see lovely friends Pamela Wood, Debbie Mikulay (great speech), Bob Mikulay, Council Member Ryan Keim, City Clerk Zeb Navarro, senior manager/emcee CJ Palmer, Management Analyst Jimmy Javier Bermudez (such a thoughtful and helpful guy), Nick Maddox, Tom Frankum and his wife. Thank you for the invite! Weather was fine. Yummy. Lots of socialization. Reminisced the wonderful past.
