Oceanside Sea Lions volunteer at Harbor Days

September 18, 2021

It was an exciting day on September 18, 2021 at the very successful Oceanside Chamber of Commerce Harbor Days! People were happy that it was open again. They were sporting tshirts that they bought years ago. I told them it’s time to add to their collection of souvenir tshirts. There was a lot of customers at the food court with several vendors. It was great to see the vintage Firetruck on display and the Police car with our heroes, first reponders from Oceanside Fire Department and Oceanside Police Department. There was also a scheduled k9 demo. Pirate June Blair and her coPirates were in their village, kid zone. There were several vendors selling different kinds like dresses, craft, snacks, special cookies, jewelries, exotic items, services, etc…which the attendees were happy to look and buy! There were entertainment, band, singer, climbing tree, slide etc…There were a lot more……I wish I was able to see all, we only rode in one lane. I’m thankful to Mike. Otw I would not have seen them. There were transpo to help people to come like golf carts, shuttle, pick up, drop off…It was great to see friends who I haven’t seen for a long time bc of CoVid. Congratulations Oceanside Chamber of Commerce CEO Scott Ashton, Director of community events Kristi Hawthorne, Margery Benaci, Victoria Carlborg on this successful event. Oceanside Sea Lions Princess Elizabeth Carlson, Teen Princess Marlie Wright, Teen Princess Jadyn Spiwak were awesome, distributing bags, greeting, meeting people and having their pictures taken. OSLC President Pam Pahnke helped fill up several bags with the OCC programs and pamphlets. I enjoyed selling the souvenir tshirts. It was great to see Lion Mel Lopez and Chip Dykes. It was a satisfying, relaxing, memorable, wonderful event!
