It was a very solemn event by Oceanside Fire Department “9/11 Remembrance Ceremony”. “Never Forget”. It was very touching remembering those who died, first responders Firefighters, Police, Medical personnel, civilians held at the Pier stage on September 11, 2023. Very stirring speeches were given by awesome Congressman Mike Levin, very impressive Mayor Esther Sanchez, amazing OPD Assist Police Chief Sean Marchand, superb Fire Chief David Parsons. Marvelous Honor Guards with Capt. Ron Owens, OFD Capt. Jacob Chambers, Eng. Kellen Harris, bugle played by multitalented FF PM Dan Karrer, marvelous singing by Denise Saiz of the National Anthem, great emcee DC Jess Specht, thank you for the invite lovely Linda McLaughlin, attended by wonderful audience like City Manager Jonathan Borrego, Fernando Hernandez district rep State Senator Catherine Blakespeare, OPD Capt Mike Kos, PIO Jennifer Atenza, Wendy Curtis Sullivan, Parks Director Manuel Gonzalez, KOCT Executive Director Carly Starr Brullo-Niles, OFA PAC Capt Anthony Walker, Fmr Principal Bess Bronson, Eileen Lohner-Turk, Capt William Curtis, Chris Cox, Kdj Rose, etc… attended by Oceanside Sea Lions Club 1st Vice President Zucette Lumabas. The club was invited but other lions members couldn’t attend either sick or busy.
