It was a very successful
North County Health and Wellness Fair held on August 9, 2018
at Oceanside Civic Center. Oceanside Sea Lions Club had a
booth where Dr. Fred Knapp with 2 assistants did eye screenings.
We had a lot of guests who had their eyes screened and visited
the booth. President Elizabeth Latasa helped the set up and
came back to tear down the booth with VP Pam Pahnke who gave
away the eyeglass wipers, Coleen Woodbeck, with other Lions
Treasurer Carol Boyer, Maria Carrasco and Rose Lewis having
assigned times. Dr. Fred was awesome with eye screenings,
all around hands on. Everyone was important but we would not
have been able to do it without Dr. Fred. We also had white
canes. Next time we’ll have more energy to give it away.
It was very warm with occasional cool breeze. I tried to stay
with Reach Air who had machine with mist. I had to move around.
Great to meet lovely Rachel Owen-Reinwald from Scholarship
Investment board, Treasurer’s Office from Sacramento.
It was wonderful to see friends and renew acquaintances, received
plenty of helpful info and lots of freebees.
