Sea Lions Club Officers 2017-2018 President Elizabeth Latasa,
VP Pam Pahnke, Secretary Gloria Ash, Treasurer Carolyn Boyer,
Tail Twister Dennis Aaron Sisneros, 1 Year Directors Merlyn
Cuevas & James Garland Brown, 2017-2019 years Directors
Zucette Lumabas Bsn & Karen Zornes. They were installed
by the awesome 4L-6 District Governor Dave Roberts at the
Olive Garden Restaurant on June 20, 2017. It was an honor
to receive another "Lion of the Year". As Lion Pam
Pahnke said I've been a Lion member for 22 yrs, 4 terms club
president, 2 terms treasurer, several terms director, Tail
Twister, Lion Tamer....... and was chairman of Bowl for the
Blind, Visitation, White Cane Days, co-chair of the Pageant,
helped the previous chair of eyesight, and now the chairman
of the website, administrator of 2 FB groups Oceanside Sea
Lions Club and Miss Oceanside & Miss Teen Oceanside. I'm
asked frequently for my expertise. I was told it is what you
call a wing person because being the co-chair of the pageant
and OCC ambassador I'm with Lion Pam in most occasion and
pitches in when she's not present. I'm so glad that I made
the right choice when I appointed Lion Pam Pahnke as the community
liaison between our club and the community. Lion Pam is wonderful.
Thank you for this Certificate of Recognition. I thank President
Jackie Fred Knapp and Lion Gloria Ash (my sponsor) for being
my great mentors during the early days of my membership. We
recognized the members, former OSLC presidents Fred and Frank
Latasa (brothers of incoming president Liz Latasa) and visitors
like La Jolla President Julio De Guzman and his wife Lisa,
Colleen, George Jr. who attended and supported the club. More
power to our club.
