Oceanside Sea Lions Club holds Miss Oceanside & Miss Teen Oceanside Scholarship Pageant

Congratulations to the new pageant winners! And the pageant ladies who helped and attended the event! Awesome! We did it Oceanside Sea Lions!!! Carol Boyer, Director Feri Joon, Tail Twister Ysela Castillo Sharp, JM Ureta, Marc Manlapaz, Mel Lopez, Julie Hiltsley, Rose Orbon Teding, Rose Lewis, GA Mitchell, Susan Batel, and everyone who contributed to the success of the event. 2021 Miss Teen Oceanside Jiselle Banuelos and Miss Oceanside Erika Atienza

Oceanside CA— Erika Atienza was crowned Miss Oceanside and following what appears to be a family tradition of pageant royalty, Jiselle Banuelos was crowned Miss Teen Oceanside. Her older sister Breanna was Miss Oceanside 2016 while another sister, Kristalina was a Princess from 2015-2017. The abbreviated Scholarship Pageant, sponsored by the Oceanside Sea Lions with Pam Pahnke-Pageant Coordinator and Zucette Lumabas-Pageant Chair, took place Saturday afternoon, June 19, 2021 at Heritage Park. The pageant is a fundraiser for the Oceanside Sea Lions with profits going to scholarships and charity. The 2021 contestants raised $2,746.50 for Operation HOPE- North County.

There wasn’t a pageant last year due to the pandemic. Raquel Parizeau -Miss Oceanside 2019-20 and Madison Matella- Miss Teen Oceanside 2019-20 along with their courts crowned in 2019 continued their service to the community in 2020.


2019-20 Miss Oceanside Princesses Carmen Gagliardi, Ariana Tahmas, Bella Teta Miss Oceanside Raquel Parizeau, Miss Teen Oceanside Madison Matella, Teen Princesses Marlie Wright, Jiselle Banuelos and Kassidy Betz.

 

Miss Atienza and Miss Banuelos each received $1,000.00 scholarships along with gift certificates, gift baskets, and trophies. The Princesses each received $300.00 cash scholarships along with gifts.

Miss Oceanside Erika Atienza

Erika Atienza will have in her court; Elizabeth Rose Carlson- First Princess, Andrea Barba- Second Princess and Emerson Ann Allen- Third Princess. Allen was voted Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants. Carlson received ‘Most Outstanding’ and ‘People’s Choice’ Awards.

Jiselle Banuelos court has Marlie Wright- First Princess, Rebeca Casanova- Second Princess, Jadyn Spiwak- Third Princess and McCall Dame- Fourth Princess. Dame also received ‘Most Outstanding’ and ‘People’s Choice’ Awards. Miss Congeniality went to Marlie Wright.


The queens and their courts become goodwill ambassadors for the City of Oceanside, the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce, Oceanside Sea Lions and appear throughout the year at city events, ribbon cuttings, and Oceanside Chamber Mixers.
