Old Glory Retirement Ceremony

Oceanside Sea Lions awesome Miss Oceanside Raquel Parizeau, Miss Teen Oceanside Madison Matella, Princess Carmen Gagliardi, Teen Princess Marlie Wright, Secretary Belle Limoge, Director Marc Manlapaz, Director Zucette Lumabas, Lion Dennis Aaron Sisneros attended the solemn event Old Glory Retirement Ceremony on June 15, 2019 at the Oceanside Firefighters Training Center and were impressed with the honor given to the retired flags, 1200 of them. The royalties participated in the flag burning, were asked for picture taking, and were happy to obliged. Thank you FF PM Dan Karrer for the invite. You’re awesome. We were glad to see friends and renew acquaintances, Capt. Jose McNally ( emcee), Denise Saiz (sang the America the Beautiful), Carina Martinez (Explorer), FF P Daniel Brown, Amon Goshai, Matt Becker, Fire Specialist Ron Owens (Honor Guard Capt.) Fire Engineer Scott Blausch (Honor Guard) OPD Police Officer Bob Moore (Honor Guard), Jim Brown (in charge of vintage fire engine), Captain Ray Valdez , Lt. Steve Coleman , Captain Curt Jack (Camp Pendleton Fire Department), Chuck Atkinson (president VANC), Rein Hanson (president/CEO Miss Cyberspace), the ladies from Reach Air, to name a few. Every year the crowd keeps getting bigger. More retired military, orchestra, Vista FD, Carlsbad FD, OFD, OFA , civilians and more. It was an amazing event.
