Scholarship
awards were given to students at the 25th Dr. Martin Luther
King Garden Reception on May 20, 2016. Tears of joy, happiness,
sad stories, success stories were apparent and heard from
the scholars. Mayor and Mrs. Jim Wood, Deputy Mayor Chuck
Lowery, Council members Esther Sanchez, Jack Feller, Jerry
Kern, OFA president Dave Overton, Oceanside Sea Lion IPP/Director/
OPK Foundation Board of trustee president Zucette Lumabas,
Scott and Board of trustee Karen Johnson, Larry and Board
of trustee Carolyn Brian were among the guests. It was a successful
event.
