MISS TEEN OCEANSIDE JACINDA RÍOS,
1st TEEN PRINCESS LAUREN BELL, 2nd TEEN KRISTALINA BANUEÑOS,
& 3rd TEEN PRINCESS KAYLA ENGERHARDT were crowned at the
Miss Oceanside & Miss Teen Oceanside Scholarship Pageant
sponsored by Oceanside Sea Lions Club to a packed crowd at
the Truax Performing Arts, El Camino High School on April
25, 2015. The contestants were beautiful, looked self assured,
gracious, articulate. The judges must have a difficult time
judging but they were prepared to face the formidable task.
It was a happy, emotional, exciting, breath taking event.
The event was made memorable by the presence of former Miss
Oceanside Queens. Brian Graham was marvelous as the emcee.
The entertainer Debbie Nicastro wowed the crowd with her rendition
of " My Girl" and "Over the Rainbow" with
the audience enthusiastically clapping, responding to the
songs, and giving loud appreciation. Sienna Trinh was also
wonderful as the entertainer. Kudos to Lion pageant coordinator/director
Pam Pahnke who did an excellent job and put in a lot of time
recruiting, preparing and reassuring the contestants. She
was assisted by lovely Carmina Barker. Chairman Bonnie Mitchell
was there encouraging the contestants. We had a professionally
done program thanks to the artistic Rose Teding. Marvelous
decorations on stage and the front were done by both talented
Lions: VP Liz Latassa & Jackie Knapp. Other Lions had
assignments to do which they did with enthusiasm and were
amazing: Dir. Marc Manlapaz, Belle Limoge, Gloria Ash, Thelma
Pantig, treas. Rica Derosier, Mely Sivage, Dr. Fred Knapp,
sec. Ed Ash and the volunteers were superb Princess Ashley
Campbell, Teen Princess Janelle Murphy, Mildred Murphy, Alice
Vitug, George Mitchell, Jr., Gracie & Sol. Yolanda Sheets
was great For doing the application. We would like to thank
everyone mentioned above and those I have missed, my deepest
appreciation by club president Zucette Lumabas co-chair.
