The Flag Retirement Ceremony

The Oceanside Fire Department hosted a United States Flag Retirement Ceremony for the Oceanside Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10577 and the Oceanside American Legion Post 146 on March 18, 2017 at Oceanside Fire Department Training Center. Thank you for your service! I was impressed by the solemn event and how they respect the flags. It was attended by Mayor Jim Wood, Council member Jerry Kern and his wife Blake, OFD Fire Chief Rick Robinson, Deputy Chief Felipe Rodriguez, Steve Marcotte of OsideNews.com, Oceanside Sea Lion PP/Director Zucette Lumabas. There were moving speeches from the amazing Fire Chief and from the Veteran Officers. Deputy Chief Felipe Rodriguez was the awesome emcee. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our heroes the OFD/OFA, Fire Chief Rick Robinson for hosting the event, for helping preserve lives and properties, connecting with and being there for the community.
