Oceanside Sea Lion Officer assists at the OFD Retirement Awards Ceremony

It was an impressive Retirement Awards Ceremony for Oceanside Fire Department awesome Capt David Overton who served in Oceanside for 31 years of outstanding Fire service held Friday 12/23/22 at Oceanside Council Chamber. Amazing Fire Chief David Parsons who was great as the emcee made it all possible with his superb leadership! Everything went smoothly. Our heroes first responders were there to honor his service with a beautiful plaque and badge. Dave was honored with “speeches” and was given Certificate of Congressional Recognition Cong Mike Levin by District Rep Salome Tash, District Rep Fernando Hernandez gave before hand Certificate of Recognition from Assembly member Tasha Horvath, Cyberspace Foundation gave a Certificate of Recognition by President Rein Hanson, and a beautiful plaque to recognize his fire Service! Dave has a total of 39 yrs fire service (PM Capt, assistant Fire Marshall 2yrs, Fire Marshal 3yrs, Union Board 8yrs, Union president 7yrs, so many to thank for: Fmr Mayor Jim Wood, Mayor Esther Sanchez, Michelle Lawrence, entire council throughout his years at the board, the men & women of OFD and the entire community for their support of OFD & OFA, so many people to thank from Zucette, Rein, Lions Club, WCO, Filipino Community, too many to list, and accomplishments…) I was touched by the Last Call! It’s good I didn’t cry. The staff was very efficient! Our deepest thanks and gratitude to OFD Fire Chief David Parsons, Deputy Chief Peter Lawrence, Division Chief Tim Scott, admin, firefighters, staff… Picture Speaks A Thousand Words!
