Oceanside Sea Lion officer attends Emerging Issues Forum

October 6, 2022

Oceanside Chamber invited their members on October 6th Emerging Issues Forum for an opportunity to meet Oceanside's New Fire Chief David Parsons and learn about his plans for the department held at Oceanside Chamber of Commerce. Oceanside Fire Department Fire Chief David Parsons was awesome and handsome. His presentation was concise, clear, very informative, understandable, showed his wonderful plans and problems to be solved with great slides presentation. He was superb in his presentation and when he answered questions. He encouraged the audience to ask questions. There was a lively discussion. I took pictures of some of the slides but there was a lot more. He played for us the OFD recruiter video where it showed what the firefighters do, firefighters in action with explanations. It was very touching and encouraging. We thank our heroes, the first responders OFD for all the great things they do, save people, properties, sacrifices they make, going to danger while we run away, missed their family events, teach us how to protect ourselves and properties. He also talked about Measure X, how it funded projects like the new Fire Training Tower, the new Fire Station 1 being built, how important that it continues because there will be a lot of things that will change, not good change if not approved. There were updates from our various legislative representatives. “The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce Emerging Issues Forum provides an avenue for Oceanside Chamber members to learn about key community issues.” Oceanside Sea Lions Club 2nd Vice President Zucette Lumabas attended. Thank you Oceanside Chamber of Commerce marvelous CEO Scott Ashton, Director Robbie Hass, Colonel Daniel Whitney. It was a very productive meeting! Great socialization and networking.
