Carol Boyle, Dir. Zucette Lumabas volunteered at the awesome
Oceanside Chamber of Commerce Senior Expo held at Oceanside
Civic Center on October 13, 2016. They have a booth where
complimentary eye screenings were given by the amazing ophthalmologist
Dr. Fred Knapp with her assistant Yosenia. We also gave white
canes, info, flyers , candies and ask for donations. Pres.
Jackie brought the eye equipments, charts, pretty decor, candies
and had the flowers delivered. Lion Pam was gung ho about
White Canes so we went around giving white canes and getting
donations for our projects. I also went around giving flyers
and taking pictures. There were a lot of vendors, product
samples, give aways, info given, networking and socialization.
Congratulations to the Senior of the Year sponsored by Oceanside
Parks and Recreation! Thank you to all the lions who volunteered
to set up, man the booth, and who stayed to do the after care,
friends, OCC, Parks & Recreation, and anyone I have missed.
