“BE IT PROCLAIMED by the members of San Diego County Board of Supervisors on this 11th Day of March 2025 that they commend Azucena Zucette Lumabas for her outstanding service, leadership and commitment to the citizen of San Diego County and do hereby declare this day to be “AZUCENA ZUCETTE LUMABAS DAY”
“I would like to start by extending my heartfelt thanks to outstanding Supervisor Jim Desmond, and all the Supervisors for this special proclamation in honor of National Women’s History Month"
Now, while I may not be history just yet, I do hope that my years of caring for people as a registered nurse in my earlier days – and now helping those in need in our communities – will leave a small legacy, so that others can follow and continue!
As the current Vice President of the Oceanside Sea Lions Club, I was honored to receive the “Milestone” Chevron Award for over 30 years of membership, a Senior Master Key, and a Medallion for sponsoring 25 members! I’m not sure if that qualifies as “historical,” but I’ll check with the historians later! Once again, thank you for this special honor. I’m deeply touched and will treasure this moment – it’s truly a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful community. Here's to honoring Women’s History Month, and all the amazing contributions each of us can make. Thank you!” Supervisor Jim Desmond was amazing! Thank you awesome Adrienne Sisneros Selekman for all your help, Board liaison Elizabeth Miller, photographer Melissa Jacob, esp to my wonderful son Neil Lumabas! It was fun, successful, solemn, well organized.
